The use of Medicaid Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICFs/IID)—institutions where four or more people live and get support—is declining overall, but progress across states is uneven. While 17 states have 10 or fewer people per 100,000 and four states have none, nine states still serve more than 40 people per 100,000 in ICFs/IID.
