Multi-Year Evaluation of Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools
Description
This project evaluates the essential components, implementation, and outcomes for high school students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) of the Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools® (SOUCS) program. The evaluation identified the critical components of SOUCS, developed a program model, and is now conducting a longitudinal evaluation of student outcomes associated with program participation. These phases of the project help explain how SOUCS is implemented and how participation relates to students’ experiences and outcomes. The work aims to strengthen the evidence base for Unified Champion Schools and support continued efforts to promote social inclusion for students with and without IDD.
