Description

Plain language is more than a writing style or accessibility tool. It is an essential part of belonging and participating in the community. It is disability justice. As a knowledge translation strategy, plain language helps move complex research, policy, and technical information into the hands of people who can act on it. There are challenges, however, including standardizing how we create plain language and the emerging need to ensure artificial intelligence creates plain-language documents that reflect the input of people with disabilities.
