Frontline Initiative: DSPs Using the NADSP Code of Ethics

Description

Every day, direct support professionals (DSPs) make significant decisions affecting the lives of the people they support. But it can be hard for DSPs to make decisions when they are doing something they have never done before, or if they face a dilemma. What guidelines can they draw from? What are best practices? How should they weigh their options? This issue of Frontline Initiative highlights the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals’ Code of Ethics that DSPs can use as a roadmap in their everyday work. The issue presents summaries and short videos of the tenets of the code and DSPs recall how they applied those tenets in their professional practice.
