Evaluation of Georgia's DSP Certification Pilot Projects

Description

This project conducts formative and summative evaluations of DSP Certification Pilot Projects funded by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Formative evaluation will track and report on pilot implementation progress. Summative evaluation will examine the pilots’ expected outcomes, tracking and reporting on previously determined project outcomes.

These three one-year pilot programs began in January 2024. Each pilot is meant to support 200 DSPs to earn DSP-1 certification by January 31, 2025. Each direct support professional who earns a DSP certification during the pilot period will receive a one-time bonus/stipend.

This project will develop an evaluation plan and data collection system to monitor the progress and outcomes of each pilot program. Evaluation metrics are shared regularly with DBHDD and pilot leads. Results will be compiled into user-friendly reports for statewide distribution.
