Greta is an award-winning journalist, content strategist, and storyteller. As a principal writer and editor at the University of Minnesota’s Institute on Community Integration (ICI), she has the privilege of highlighting the important work being done to ensure every person has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
During her tenure at Minnesota Public Radio (MPR), Greta’s reporting was featured on National Public Radio (NPR), the BBC, and American Public Media programs. As a content strategist at Gillette Children’s, she shared stories of scientific breakthroughs, advocacy efforts, and the work of medical providers and patient families.
Greta has taught journalism at the University of Minnesota and the University of St. Thomas.
Her essay highlighting the beauty of urban Minnesota appears in the book Voices from the Land, published by Milkweed Editions and the Minnesota Historical Society. Greta’s story of learning to knit appears in the book Knitting Yarns and Spinning Tales. Her writing has also appeared in the Minnesota Star Tribune and the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Greta has an M.A. and a PhD from the University of Minnesota’s Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She received her undergraduate degree from Boston University.
