Special Projects to Advance "Learn the Signs, Act Early"
Description
Integrates developmental monitoring using Learn the Signs, Act Early (LTSAE) checklists into the Follow Along Program—a large statewide family-serving, home-visiting program—and develops a comprehensive implementation guide for other states to replicate. The Follow Along Program is part of the Minnesota Department of Health.
In addition, the project hosts an Act Early ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) professional development webinar series for the Follow Along Program and other early childhood staff focusing on identifying early signs of autism/developmental delays, using LTSAE materials and integrating CDC's MN-ADDM (Autism Developmental Disabilities Monitoring) network. The project is also developing an Act Early Resource Toolkit for ongoing sustainability and replication across other state public health programs.
