Description
The Institute's monthly staff newsletter features news of recent activities, accomplishments, and resources. This month's first article features Jeanne Calvit, who founded the Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, an Institute partner; she spoke at an ICI event held in her honor. The second feature story is about the updated Code of Ethics for the direct support field, which was written and recently revised by the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals, another Institute partner; ICI played a significant role in the original Code and the recent revision. The third story covers an ICI group who traveled to the remote mountainous kingdom of Bhutan to present and participate in the International Association of Special Education conference; ICI's Associate Director of Research Rénata Tichá served as conference co-chair. This month's Update features an MNLEND fellow who joined an ICI delegation to Washington, D.C., in June to speak about the importance of funding programs that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
