The Institute's monthly staff newsletter highlights news of recent activities, accomplishments, and resources. This month's feature stories concern research, disability voices, and advocacy. The first story is about the new issue of Impact magazine, which explores the global loneliness epidemic through a disability lens. The second story covers a recent rally sponsored by The Arc Minnesota to support ICI and other organizations threatened by federal funding cuts. The final story concerns a recent event where MNLEND fellows displayed their research posters. This month's Update is about Ellie Wilson (MNLEND 2010-11, executive director of the Autism Society of Minnesota), who told WCCO/CBS television that divisive statements from federal officials about autism’s cause and autistic people with the most significant support needs do nothing to help those families.
