MTI Quarterly Trainings: Increasing Confidence in Conversations about Work and Benefits

New

Description

Addressing concerns about work and benefits can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. A disability service professional doesn’t need to be a certified benefits counselor to discuss work and benefits with potential jobseekers. In fact, having these conversations early and often is vital. This training describes the role of disability service professionals in addressing work and benefits. It also shares resources for day and employment staff and demonstrates how to discuss work and benefits with jobseekers and their support team.

The presenters are Beth Grube from the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Lisa Carlson from Rise, Inc., and Jim Freeman from TSE, Inc. ICI's Danielle Mahoehney moderates the discussion.
