Description
A brief describing the experiences with public and private health insurance coverage for people with functional limitations, people with IDD, and people who do not have IDD or functional limitations, and examining the variations in these outcomes by gender and age. It is based on data collected in 1994 and 1995 through the National Health Interview Survey Disability Supplement (NHIS-D) that collected extensive information about disabilities among the individuals sampled as part of the annual census-based household interview surveys. The NHIS describes demographic characteristics, health status, functional limitations, and supports and services used by persons in the civilian, noninstitutionalized population in the United States.
