In a television news story, "New reports on Direct Support Professionals highlight low pay, poor benefits," KSTP -- the Twin Cities' ABC affiliate on Channel 5 reported the release of two reports on the Direct Support Workforce. One report is based on a survey of state provider organizations and the other is based on a survey of Direct Support Professionals working in Minnesota. The findings will be used to inform legislative policy.
The surveys were conducted by the Institute on Community Integration in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Human Services and several community partner organizations. Amy Hewitt was the director of the project and was interviewed for the story.
