On May 25, ICI will be honored by The Arc Minnesota at the agency’s annual Public Policy Recognition gala.  The event is open to the public and will begin at 6 p.m. at the Midland Hills Country Club in Roseville. “We are proud to honor ICI’s cutting edge work that ensures that people with disabilities are valued by, and contribute to, their communities of choice,” said Don Lavin, The Arc Minnesota’s Executive Director. “The research findings, innovative programming, and hands-on training curricula from ICI have touched the lives of self-advocates, families, and direct care staff across the world. Because of the Institute, people have been connected with resources to give them greater independence, direct support professionals and families have been given tools to make life in the community a reality for those they support, and the public has been informed of inclusion’s benefits through concrete data generated by rigorous research.” The May 25th event will include testimonials from individuals who have seen ICI’s accomplishments and impact on larger society. In addition, the evening’s program will feature a collection of anecdotes, stories, and messages from individuals and organizations that have collaborated with and benefited from ICI’s work throughout the years. We invite you to join us as we celebrate this wonderful honor. Tickets to the event are $60 for individuals and can be purchased online.  If you’d like to contribute to the written collection of tributes to ICI’s work, please call or email Wendy Gerlach, The Arc Minnesota Development Coordinator, at 651-604-8070 or wendyg@arcmn.org.
