Disability Scoop Reports on Federal Monitoring of Autism Prevalence Among Children
Disability Scoop reported that the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network (ADDM) — of which ICI is a part — is again gathering data on the prevalence of autism among children ages 4 and 8 for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). CDC has selected 11 sites to be part of the next surveillance efforts through its ADDM. All of the sites will comb through records from 8-year-olds and 4-year-olds in their areas to determine how many qualify for an autism diagnosis.
