- Project Coordinator
Sharon Mulé is a project coordinator and member of the Check & Connect team at the Institute on Community Integration, University of Minnesota. Currently, she is the coordinator for The Florida State Personnel Development Grant: Successful Graduates, a project to implement Check & Connect in Florida, as well as Connecting through Service, a student retention project at the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School in Cloquet, Minnesota. She also provides national training on Check & Connect. Previously, she was the coordinator for Minnesota E-Connect, an e-mentoring program for youth with disabilities which grew to include 29 program sites connecting over 300 students with mentors from the business community.
Prior to her work at the University, Ms. Mulé was program coordinator at Arc Greater Twin Cities, where she further developed the GetSet! Program on the special education process. In 2011, she worked as a contracted specialist at The Arc of Minnesota providing guidance and implementation assistance their School-To-Community Transition Project.
Ms. Mulé has given over 100 presentations and workshops on the special education process for parents and educators. Her areas of expertise include special education transition, school readiness, parenting youth with disabilities, and single parenting. She has worked directly with children with disabilities from preschool through transition and has provided advocacy and support for these youth and their families for over 15 years. Ms. Mulé's recent publications include "Preparing for adult life: Important social skills for high school students" and "A new generation of career mentoring for young adults with disabilities: E-Connect."
