FYI Monthly is a monthly e-communication from the Institute on Community Integration. The May 2020 issue includes four feature stories, a leading ICI Facebook post about a survey of direct support professionals (DSPs) during the coronavirus pandemic, new publications, staff updates, and an alumni update from a former ICI staff member who was recently appointed director of the School of Social Work at the University of St. Thomas.
The first feature story explores the survey mentioned in the Facebook post. The other three stories are about new ICI publications: a series of online articles that give quarantined teachers and families practical tips on navigating the educational process; the latest issue of Impact explores the roles and needs of siblings of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities; and the latest issue of Frontline Initiative, which ICI produces with the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals, examines how DSPs can support healthy relationships.
