The April 10 weekly issue of the newsletter News and Notes from the NIDILRR Community and Beyond  from the National Rehabilitation Information Center (NARIC) highlighted the new Impact: Feature Issue on Inclusive Education for K-8 Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities. Impact is published by ICI and its Research and Training Center on Community Living, which is funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), a grant-making agency at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that funds research to generate new knowledge and to promote its effective use to improve the abilities of people with disabilities to perform activities of their choice in the community. The NARIC newsletter notes that Impact's personal stories, program profiles, and how-to articles came from researchers, education administrators, students, and parents who shared their "knowledge, skills, experiences, and resources [to] help K-8 schools throughout the country support the learning and inclusion of all students, including those with significant cognitive disabilities."
