Charting the LifeCourse Workshops
Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) is a framework that can help people explore, plan, and share their vision of a good life with others. These free workshops are designed for families, educators, and anyone who is interested in learning about the Charting the LifeCourse framework and tools. Each workshop offers practical strategies, tools, and real-life examples to help center the voices, goals, and dreams of people with disabilities as they plan for school, life, and decision-making.
Growing Together: Using Charting the LifeCourse to Partner with Your IEP Team
IEP meetings are great opportunities to collaborate, though they can sometimes feel overwhelming, with so much information to cover. Join us for this interactive 90-minute workshop where we will introduce you to Charting the LifeCourse framework and how you can use it to prepare for the IEP meeting. This framework was developed by the University of Missouri, Kansas City - LifeCourse Nexus to help all people celebrate their strengths and design a vision for a good life. This session is designed to help you organize your thoughts and your child's ideas beforehand, giving you the tools to partner with your child’s school team as you plan for the future together.

My Life, My Choices: Supported Decision-Making and Charting the LifeCourse
Everyone should be able to make their own choices, with help if they want and need it. Join us to learn about how Supported Decision-Making and the Charting the LifeCourse Framework can help keep your child in the driver’s seat of their life. Together, we will use the Charting the LifeCourse Framework to help you think about your child's vision of their good life and figure out who can help them along the way. You will leave this session with ways to build a strong support network that keeps the child's choices at the center of their life.

Charting the LifeCourse Fundamentals
Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) Fundamentals is designed to equip learners with core knowledge of the CtLC person-centered framework. The Charting the LifeCourse framework and tools were developed by the LifeCourse Nexus, a national center for training, partnership, technical assistance, and research housed at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) Institute for Human Development (UCEDD). This interactive training provides hands-on experience applying CtLC guiding principles and tools and is facilitated by a Certified Charting the LifeCourse Trainer, through an authorized partnership with the LifeCourse Nexus. This session is intended for individuals who live or work in Minnesota and does not replace national CtLC trainings offered by the LifeCourse Nexus.
Prerequisites
This series is for families and professionals who live or work in Minnesota. It is recommended to view this free Intro to Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) before the training.
Completion & Certification:
Upon successfully meeting all requirements, including attending all modules and completing pre-/post-learning surveys, a Certificate of Completion is awarded.

Minnesota LifeCourse in Action Sessions
Minnesota’s LifeCourse in Action Group was developed to support the use of the Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) framework across the state. Charting the LifeCourse in Action events are interactive sessions for hands-on learning, testing ideas, and exploring strategies for using the framework. Participants can collaborate with others who are applying it in different ways. It's recommended that attendees have a basic understanding of the CtLC framework and are beginning to use its tools. They are encouraged to share their experiences or bring challenging case studies to discuss.

Are there interpreters at the sessions?
ASL interpreters can be arranged if requested when you register. CART is available for online sessions if requested. We require a two-week advance notice to arrange for ASL interpreters or CART.
