FYI from the Institute on Community Integration: October 2019

Description

FYI Monthly is a monthly e-communication from the Institute on Community Integration. The October 2019 issue includes three feature stories, a leading ICI Facebook post from the past month, four new publications, coming events, some staff updates, and an alumni update.

The first feature story is about a supplemental award that ICI’s Research and Training Center on Home and Community-based Services Outcome Measurement (RTC-OM) received to develop and field-test measures of person-centered service practices; RTC-OM will also explore the extent to which people with disabilities themselves are provided with opportunities to develop and evaluate home and community-based services. The second story is about an ICI Diversity Fellow/MNLEND Fellow that the Autism Society of Minnesota hired to help multicultural families affected by autism navigate and access services that lead to better lives and communities. The final story is about is about Sheryl Lazarus taking charge of ICI's National Center on Educational Outcomes after the center's founder, Martha Thurlow, stepped down on October 1.
