Journey to Completion: Strategies for Success in High School
A video illustrating the process of the Dropout Prevention, Retention, and Graduation Initiative. In 2005, the Minnesota Department of Education began a pilot project designed to promote school completion in seven school districts. In addition to focusing on ten recommended strategies, districts worked to support critical transition periods for students and to promote a positive school climate tailored to each school's unique population. This video captures insights, successes, and lessons learned from the districts as the Initiative wrapped up its final year.
The video includes four chapters:
- Getting Started
- Reasons Why
- Strategies and Programming
- Sustainability and Outcomes
