Expanding Career Options for Young Women with Learning Disabilities. By L. Lindstrom, M. Benz, & B. Doren. Published in the journal Career Development for Exceptional Individuals, (27)1, 2004. The article reports the findings of a study that examined the barriers and facilitators to career choice for young women with learning disabilities who graduated from high school and entered the workforce. Findings show that those who had a solid foundation of employment experiences, coupled with opportunities to explore and refine career goals, were more likely to enter employment related to their interests and goals.
