Instruments: Inclusive Education

Inclusion Practices Priorities Instrument

An instrument providing guidance for individuals or teams as they review best practices indicators regarding the development of inclusive school communities and establish priority targets for improvement. The tool addresses three areas: school community issues, team issues, and classroom issues. (1992) • Cost: $2.00

P.R.O. filer – Personal Portfolio and Filing System
A tool to help students learn to organize important documents, keep records of school and community learning opportunities, and create a portfolio to showcase their accomplishments. The kit contains file dividers and a how-to manual; students will need to provide their own portfolio or storage case. Produced by the School-to-Work Technical Assistance Project. Miscellaneous: Direct Support Professional Training

NADSP Moving Mountains Commitment Poster
A poster describing a set of workforce principles developed by the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) to encourage organizations and individuals to adopt policies and practices that result in a competent, committed direct support workforce. Poster is 16” x 20”, metallic green and black. Produced by NADSP in collaboration with the Institute’s Research and Training Center on Community Living. (2003) • Cost: $10.00

Code of Ethics Materials for Direct Support Professionals
A series of materials on the recently-developed Code of Ethics for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). The Code is intended to serve as a straightforward and relevant guide for DSPs as they resolve the ethical dilemmas they face every day, and encourages them to achieve the highest ideals of the profession. Produced by the National Association of Direct Support Professionals and the Institute's Research and Training Center on Community Living. Brochure provides the entire text of the Code; poster and wallet card provide a quick-reference version. (2001) • Cost:

Wake_UpService Changes Lives Posters and Postcards
A series of postcards and posters that share positive messages about individuals with disabilities in volunteer/service opportunities. Intended for use as marketing and recruitment materials by organizations and agencies seeking to support and increase inclusion of individuals with disabilities in a variety of volunteer/service opportunities. The posters and postcards are only available online for downloading and customizing; organizations desiring to use them must register with the Minnesota Service Inclusion Project and agree to the terms of use. Directions for registration and downloading are on the Web site. (2004) • Available only on the Web
