Angie J. Pohl, Ph.D. is a Research Associate at the Institute on Community Integration. She earned her doctorate in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in School Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Her current work centers on research and training for Check & Connect, a comprehensive intervention designed to enhance student engagement at school and with learning for marginalized, disengaged students in grades K-12, through relationship building, problem solving and capacity building, and persistence. Dr. Pohl's research interests include translation of research into practice in K-12 schools with particular focus on development and implementation of evidence-based practices that support students' engagement, motivation, and social emotional competence. Prior to graduate school, Dr. Pohl taught junior high and high school English for 6 years and served as a collaborative teacher leader. She is currently pursuing her K-12 Administrative Licensure through the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development.
