Welcome to the Web site for the Alternative Schools Research Project. This three-year project gathered and synthesized information about the policies and practices of alternative schools across the nation, especially in relation to students with disabilities. It is one of three studies (focused on alternative schools and students with disabilities) funded in October 2001 by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs.

This Web site provides an overview of the research project, a listing of its publications, summaries of research reports, and information about related links and staff. An overview of the Enrollment Options Project (1990-1998) along with publications from the project is also provided. The Enrollment Options Project was a federally funded research project that examined Minnesota’s various school choice options and their impact on students with disabilities.
