A report announced by Secretary Riley descirbes promising efforts to improve
"teacher quality." Includes characteristics and profiles of promising:

The Big Picture Company is a non-profit corporation dedicated to networking
and supporting innovative high school reform efforts across the United
States. The Big Picture was founded in Providence, RI by Elliot Washor

Teacher Talk is a publication for pre-service and secondary education teachers
that exists as a series of World Wide Web documents. Anyone is welcome to
use these resources as long as they indicate that the article or lesson

Job Shadow Day (www.jobshadow.org)
Job shadowing can open up doors and career opportunities for thousands of
young Americans. On February 2, 1998, Groundhog Job Shadow Day will be celebrated,
a day dedicated to giving young people across America job shadowing experiences.
Job shadowing enables kids to spend time in the workplace, providing an
up-close look at what a "real job" is like and how the skills
